THE TEAM

JAIME FITZGERALD, President

A Harvard graduate in economics with more than a decade of experience in management consulting, Jaime is the founder and President of Fitzgerald Analytics. Throughout his career, he has focused on customer profitability, science-based marketing, and business process improvement. At Fitzgerald Analytics, Jaime helps executives make high-stakes decisions as effectively as possible.

Jaime has advised market-leading commercial banks and credit card companies in the United States, Canada, and Singapore, combining analysis of customer profitability with hands-on implementation of technology and operations enhancements. His extensive experience in technology and information strategy has included performing a comprehensive technology resource gap analysis, developing a dynamic gap analysis modeling tool and designing and planning a 12 million dollar Customer Relationship Management System.

JASON WHALEY, Chief Operating Officer

Jason brings a decade of experience in consulting to his role at Fitzgerald Analytics. Since early 2007 he has led the application of FA methodologies to client change initiatives in the Financial Services industry and in the non-profit sector. Prior to FA, Jason spent seven years at Monitor Group, where he led consulting projects for multinational clients with subject matter expertise in software design and implementation, financial modeling, and market simulations. His experience includes simulating the launch of a breakthrough biotechnology product to identify strategic imperatives, applying portfolio valuation analytics to the telecommunications industry in Eastern Europe, and developing market intelligence platforms for the tourism industry in Africa.

A strategic IT innovator, Jason is the designer and builder of innovative marketing data analysis software that quickly puts insightful data in the hands of non-specialists. As a manager and developer on many large software development projects, both for off-the-shelf products and custom systems, Jason has produced business results despite technology challenges. Jason holds a BA with honors in Computer Science from Dartmouth College.

CYNTHIA MACLEOD, Relationship Manager

Cynthia developed and applied FA’s Managing for Results framework to enable complex, cross-functional changes in large client settings. She has extensive experience in the planning and implementation of technological and operational efficiencies in the health care and financial sectors. As a senior engagement manager, she has been responsible for the project management of a successful pilot enabling migration to a new national technology platform drastically enhancing both scalability and quality of service, and has led development of business requirements for a projected $15 million IT enhancement project.

Cynthia's extensive experience in education and training includes teaching at Novo-Nordisk developing and facilitating workshops in the non-profit sector, and training in meeting effectiveness. Cynthia’s publications have appeared in a variety of journals and consumer publications, including the Bank Street College of Education’s Occasional Paper Series.

Cynthia received a masters degree in Technological and Economic Planning from Roskilde University in Denmark, and a BA with high honors from Wesleyan University.

GNIEWKO LUBECKI, Consultant

Gniewko is a solution-centric technologist with a robust background in data analysis, information technology and business, with extensive experience with data mining and statistical analysis of large data sets. Gniewko began his career at Lazard Freres, the investment banking firm, where he designed and implemented data analysis and reporting systems that integrated multiple data sources and made trading desk processes more efficient. In addition to his analysis and reporting work at Lazard, Gniewko used data mining and statistical Factor Analysis methods to enhance the company's mortgage-backed security prepayment model. His work helped the fixed-income portfolio weather the mortgage prepayment wave of the late '90s. He also created and managed the IT department of a fast-growing retail distributor, upgrading the company's technology infrastructure from standalone workstations to a complete network with multiple servers, MS SQL database, Navision enterprise management software, and reliable backup systems.

Gniewko has also managed two web companies, focusing on designing technology and data infrastructure assets to support the firms' business strategy. He set up data collection and analysis systems to obtain actionable business intelligence from user activity on the websites, ultimately increasing company revenue more than ten-fold. In addition, he created processes and systems for testing and optimizing various elements of online content, with the goal of promoting desired activity on the site (e.g. registrations, purchases, etc.). Gniewko has a BA in Physics from Harvard, and an MS in Molecular Biology from MIT.

MEGAN SHAW, Consultant

Megan brings a mix of investing and strategic consulting experience to FA. With a background in private equity, Megan is experienced in investment analysis, due diligence and post-acquisition strategic and operational improvements. Prior to joining FA, Megan worked for Monitor Group and Monitor’s affiliated private equity fund, Monitor Clipper Partners. While at Monitor, Megan worked as a project manager for the CEO, overseeing international events and third party partnerships. Most recently, she was an Associate at Purepay, a private equity firm focused on the financial services industry.

Megan holds a BA in Economics with honors from Amherst College. She has been a leader in Inspire, a non-profit consulting organization, and is currently involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

MANUEL DE LEON, Consultant

Manuel is an experienced database architect who has worked for leading firms in financial services and retail, designing and building sophisticated Microsoft SQL and Access databases for them. His data-based applications included enhanced financial trading systems for Swiss Re, and complex systems for large-scale automated transformation and analysis of retail transaction data. Manuel has solid knowledge of application development and superior problem solving skills using Microsoft technologies including Visual Basic, .Net, VBA, Excel and Access.

Manuel has B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Santo Domingo Institute of Technology in the Dominican Republic. Bilingual in English and Spanish.

JOSEPH COLEMAN, Analyst

Joseph designs and builds creative models that apply the scientific method to critical business decisions. A research specialist with a Masters degree from Columbia University in Mechanical Engineering, Joseph built his analytic skills while contributing to projects at Columbia's Laboratory for Microscale Transport Phenomena and at the Earth Institute.

Prior to joining FA, Joseph worked for Columbia University's Millennium Village Project Energy Group, whose research mission is to accelerate poverty reduction in sub-Saharan Africa through sustainable development and resource conservation. Collaborating with engineers, economists and policy experts, Joseph created models of biofuel generation potential using Geographic Information Systems. Key insights involved the impact of proximity to infrastructure on productivity and economic benefits.

In addition to supporting FA's private-sector clients with cutting-edge analysis, Joseph is an active contributor to FA's work in the non-profit, public, and social sectors.

JASON ROCHE, Analyst

As an Analyst at FA, Jason creates models which give insight to high stakes strategic decisions. Prior to joining FA, Jason worked as an Executive Compensation Analyst at Pearl Meyer & Partners, where he conducted analyses of client financial and pay strategies, as well as the designs of comprehensive compensation strategies and programs.

At Cornell University, where he received a BA in Economics with honors, Jason worked as a Research Assistant, compiling and analyzing statistical data to test researchers' hypotheses on promotion rates in the for-profit and non-profit sectors, on the relationship between risk and incentives in agency theory, and on the labor market effects of employer recruitment choice. Jason has also worked at Citigroup Smith Barney as a Research Analyst, utilizing his research and data analysis skills to prepare various financial reports, especially for pharmaceutical industries.

ARUNA VASSAR, Analyst

Aruna delivers clarity and results for clients through resourceful application of her unique background in financial services and behavioral neuroscience.

Prior to joining FA, Aruna worked as an investment analyst at Citi Private Bank. She analyzed investment opportunities in private equity, helped optimize investment strategies, and conducted a series of interviews with the world's top behavioral economists for a consultancy position. As a research fellow at Columbia Medical Center, she developed testable hypotheses regarding gene regulation of neurogenesis (the birth of neurons, a key function in brain development).

Aruna holds a B.S.in Neuroscience and Behavior from Columbia University.

AYESHA KHANNA, Senior Advisor

Ayesha is a strategic management and technology specialist with over ten years of experience in leveraging technology and optimizing operations to gain competitive advantage in global financial markets. She has extensive experience guiding Executive Management in technology strategy development, benchmarking to market competitors and ensuring business-IT alignment. In particular, Ayesha has expertise in best practices for seamless automation of front, middle and back offices functions; ensuring compliance with global regulation; and overseeing governance of outsourcing partners. Clients have included leading broker-dealers, buy-side institutions and clearinghouses such as Banc of America Securities, JP Morgan Chase, UBS, American International Group, US Trust, Deutsche Bank, and Depository of Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC). Ayesha is also editor of "The Complete Technology Guides for Financial Services" series published by Elsevier and author of the book Straight Through Processing for Financial Services (Elsevier 2007).

Ayesha has a BA with honors in Economics from Harvard University and an MS in Operations Research from Columbia University.


NOHA EL-SHAREIF, Senior Advisor

Noha El-Shareif brings over 8 years of experience within the Financial Services, Research and Management Consulting industries in Canada and the United States. She has extensive experience in IT and HR process improvement for large organizations, including effectiveness reviews of global IT and HR groups, IT & HR governance systems, root-cause identification, design of operating models, clarification of accountabilities and responsibilities within IT and HR (e.g. Shared Services), and developing detailed understanding of process step ownership.

Noha's areas of focus include Talent Strategy development, Workforce Planning & Analytics, Career Development, and Succession Planning for both HR and IT groups within Financial Services. Working closely with HR business partners, Noha has a solid understanding regarding the integration of business and human resource needs. During her tenure within Scotiabank and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Noha developed global and local HR metrics to ensure measurement of HR goals to strategy, creation of drivers for service excellence within large-scale transformations of HR organizations, Organization Design and development, as well as Communication and Change Management.

Noha holds a BA in Statistics and Economics from the University of Western Ontario (UWO) and is bilingual in Arabic and English. She is involved with various not-for-profit organizations such as the YWCA of Toronto and Gilda's Club of Greater Toronto.


TALENT & ALLIANCES

NAOKO FITZGERALD, Director

Naoko manages various aspects of Fitzgerald Analytics' recruiting and human resources department, and leads the firm's partnership and alliances initiatives. Before joining FA, Naoko was a Program Associate at the Japan Center for International Exchange (JCIE/USA), a think tank dedicated to strengthening Japan's role in international affairs in New York, and worked on a wide range of US-Japan exchange and research projects. Prior to joining JCIE, Naoko worked five years on Wall Street as a financial consultant at Smith Barney, and a US Equity sales trader at Mitsubishi Securities.

Naoko has a BA in Economics and International Relations from Boston University.

LUCY van der WALL, Manager

A consultant with experience in technology, non-profit governance, research, and international relations, Lucy helps ensure the consistent high quality of our services by streamlining internal operations, and optimizing our business processes with clients and partners. Lucy started her career as a Financial Services Technology Solutions Consultant at Accenture, and led multiple international projects for financial institutions such as National Australia Bank and Standard Chartered Bank. Prior to joining FA, Lucy worked as an Assistant Program Officer for the Japan Center for International Exchange (JCIE), a Tokyo based think tank, where she managed multilateral and cross-sectoral dialog and research projects.

Lucy has a Bachelor of Commerce from Australian National University with a major in Accounting and a minor in Economics, as well as a Master's degree in International and Community Development from Deakin University in Australia. Lucy also received a scholarship from the Japanese government and studied at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan.
